Yours truly Runner Rocky always love to share with you inspiring stories of different athletes. See how they start from a humble beginning until they lord on their respective games. Just like them, I'm also started from nothing before I emerged into everything.
So today, let's take a look on one of the favorite basketball players, the so-called "Angas ng Tondo," Paul Lee!
Before becoming the Angas ng Tondo, Paul Lee was just trying to grab an opportunity of a lifetime to help his family |
Before he was known as “Angas ng Tondo” in the local professional league, Paul Lee was a simple young man wanting a better life for his family.
The former University of the East King Warrior will share his story this Thursday (September 15) on "Sports U" on ABS-CBN.
Before joining the UE Red Warriors in the UAAP, Lee gained recognition in the local basketball scene as a high schooler when he was part of the San Sebastian Staglets squad that featured the likes of former UAAP players and stars in Arvie Bringas, Eric Salamat, and Ryan Buenafe. He soon found himself being the heart and soul of his school’s team when he led the Red Warriors to the Finals of the UAAP in Season 72 against Ateneo.
For the “Angas ng Tondo,” basketball was more than life as it brought him lots of blessings in special ways, one of which was getting a call to represent the nation as a Gilas Pilipinas member in international basketball tournaments.
Don't miss “Sports U” this Thursday (September 13) and get to know more about one of today's most exciting basketball stars after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN.
“Sports U” aims to promote athletes who have inspiring stories to share and may possibly become future sports stars of the country. It also promotes fitness and healthy lifestyle by looking into how celebrities stay in shape.
