It was a day of Ice in the afternoon of October 4, 2017 at the SM Mall of Asia as its newest Lifestyle Entertainment place, the new Olympic-size Ice Skating Rink officially opened. And the event was graced by the popular names in the "ice sports" such as LR Lancero, a medal of the Team Pilipinas Ice Jockey team who won Gold in the recently concluded SEA Games 2017 and the "ice wonder girls" who won championship in the different competition. And yours truly Runner Rocky witnessed this huge "ice event" as well as the grand performance of the said ice-skating athletes!
And here are the details of the story during the said launch:
Sweeping in time for the cool breeze of the BER months, SM Skating opens an all-new Olympic-size ice rink at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) complex Pasay City.
Located at the main mall's recently-opened third level, the 1,800-square meter rink is the perfect venue to cool down with family and friends or learn the country's only range of ice sports.

The coolest place in town boasts of a standard size Olympic rink, big enough to fit 300 people at a time. Catering to sports such as figure skating, speed skating, and ice hockey, the rink is equipped with complete fcailities such as a digital scorebaord, players' boxes, scorekeeper and penalty boxes as well as two locker rooms. each with a hot and cold shower.
A multi-purpose room serves as a venue for sports trainings, meetings, and other socila functions while a clinic provides immediate first aid assistance for any minor sports-related injuries.
"It was Mr. Henry Sy Sr.'s vision to introduce the finese and grace in ice sports through a fuly-equipped ice skating rink. The unveiling of this new facility is both a step forward in our commitment to help grow winter-based sports and our way of inviting more families to step inside the rink and create fun, memorable experience together," said Herman Media-Cue, COO of SM Lifestyle Entertainment Inc.
