Spartan Race Philippines Race Date is Moved to September 23!

Due to the large parts of the course being damaged by the Typhoon Maring which hit the country yesterday, September 12, the race schedule of the very first Philippine edition of the Spartan Race was moved from September 16 to September 23, 2017.

The organizer will need to fix the damages done by the typhoon to ensure safety of the participants. If the participants can't make it on the rescheduled date, they can defer the registration free of charge on the next Spartan Race PH in 2018.

Meanwhile, the date September 16 will be used by the organizer to conduct the new event called the Typhoon Heat. This is a 4 hour endurance team-based training that will prepare the participants to be more competitive.

Here is the official announcement from the Spartan Race Philippines regarding the postponement of the event:

Spartans,

We are disappointed to inform you that due to large parts of the course being damaged after being hit hard by Typhoon Maring yesterday, we do not believe that we can safely complete the course by 16th of September. All production crew had to be pulled off the course due to severe lightning at the race venue for safety reasons. Due to the damaged site terrain, getting obstacles to the required locations has been excessively difficult.

Safety is our number one priority, and with the weather forecast stating that the possibility of more inclement weather is coming this way, we have no choice but to postpone the event from the 16th of September by one week to the 23rd of September. If you are unable to make the new race date, you will be deferred free of charge to the next Philippine race in 2018. Date to be announced.

The good news is that on the 16th of September, we will be hosting the World’s first Typhoon Heat! This is a 4 hour endurance team-based event designed to push racers to greater personal distances, and to quickly learn the value and true meaning of having mutual objectives through teamwork.

The Typhoon Heat will be free for racers who have registered for the Sprint, prior to the postponement announcement. Limited spots available.

Registration links and more details to the Typhoon heat will be released shortly. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and we hope to see you on the 16th of September for the Typhoon heat and the 23rd of September for the inaugural Philippines Spartan Sprint at Timberland Heights in San Mateo, Rizal.
