Ateneo De Manila Brings Back the Big Blue Run!

Ateneo De Manila Campus brings back the much anticipated Big Blue Run! And yes, just like most runners, I'm excited to take part in this great COMEBACK!

Why 'Comeback?' It's because, this race which started in 2012 didn't have another edition in the succeeding years. Therefore this 2019, it's definitely a triple B - Big, Blue, Back!

And just like the Big Blue Run 2019, yours truly Runner Rocky is also making a comeback running in the campus of Ateneo De Manila. In 2015, I first ran in this campus via Run for Your Life 2, a running event organized by Runrio for the scholars of the medical students.

During the Festival Run 2019 last Sunday, March 10 in CCP Complex, great to see a booth of this BB Run. And I was able to see the actual singlet and medal of this running event as well as meeting the organizer of the race.

Check out below two of our groupies with the organizers, the Ateneo students Mica Sibayan and Nathan Rosal:

To give you a glimpse about this race, the Track and Field Program of Ateneo de Manila University with the help of Trackstar Sport and RSRJ Events Management brings the Big Blue Run 2019. The actual race will be on March 24 at the Ateneo campus running grounds in Katipunan, QC.

This running event has three distance categories - 3k, 5k, 10k. Registration fees are Php700, Php900, and Php1050 respectively. Registration period is on February 3, 2019 – March 18, 2019. You may register on the following sites: Garmin SM North Edsa, Anytime Fitness UPTC, Hallal Kebab Express Regis Center.

The medal designs for all categories and FS for 10K are as follow:

Talking about inclusions, all categories are inclusive of Singlet, Race Bib, Medal, Shades, Booster Sticker, and Loot Bag. For the 10K participants, they will receive a Finisher’s Shirt.

Meanwhile, here is the actual race singlet wore by the Track and Field varsity athlete Nathan Rosal:

And since I'm joining the race, here is my actual race BIB:

What more this race makes extra-ordinary? Well, they are encouraging camaraderie through “boosting” stickers which each participant will be getting in their kits to boost up their friends, either with a special perk during the run or sponsorship goodies. Since it is also summertime, they are adding a bit of color to the run by making use of colored powder (dark blue, light blue and white) as the “loop markers” per distance.

For further details or inquiries, you may also contact the RSRJ organizer via Regine Ya-on – 09273646311.

So are you now more excited about this race? C'mon, let's go blue and run big! Join us as we run back in Ateneo! See you all on the 24TH! 03/12/2019 (Runner Rocky)
